In order to transfer a domain name away from Name.com, three things need to be done from within your Name.com account. The domain(s) will need to be unlocked, any whois privacy will need to be disabled, and you will need the authorization code for the domain. You can do these three things by following the instructions below.

Unlock the domain:

1. Log into your Name.com account and click the account tab and then select my account. From there click the domain you wish to transfer in the 'My Domains' list. If you do not see the domain listed there, click 'View all domains' link.

2. Click the domain you wish to unlock

3. Click the padlock icon on the upper left to unlock the domain.

Once that is done, you will see the private whois status at the bottom of the domain details. To disable who.is privacy click the green magnifying glass.  Lastly, you will need to obtain the authorization code. To display click the view link next to Auth Code.  We recommend copying and pasting this in order to ensure that the code is correct.

Once you have followed these steps, the domain(s) is eligible for transfer to the new registrar and the transfer should complete within 5 days.
